Mandel Vision Newsletter ~ In Focus ~ June 2020 Highlights
In this month’s newsletter, we talk about COVID-19 and the eyes, the difference between LASIK and PRK eye surgery and our Essential Workers Appreciation Discount.
Mandel Vision is Here for You!
After more than a month of a phased approach to re-opening our practice, we have expanded our schedule to accept all patients. For the safety of our patients and staff members, we are still limiting appointment times to facilitate social distancing and have put additional safety practices in place.
This Month’s Featured Eye Health Tip:
Can I contract COVID-19 through my eyes?
It is possible to contract the COVID-19 virus through the eyes. However, the respiratory route via the nose and mouth is still the most likely way to contract the virus.
LASIK vs. PRK: Which Procedure is Right for You?
LASIK and PRK are both laser vision correction procedures, which correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Both procedures can also be used to treat presbyopia, with an option known as monovision. With so much information available online, many of our patients come in already educated with the knowledge that there’s more than just one option available to correct their vision. Since LASIK and PRK are two of the most widely used techniques, this is a question we hear frequently from our Mandel Vision patients: What’s the difference between LASIK and PRK?
